Here we are in our new Year

How are you all doing with your resolutions?

I thought I'd elaborate a bit on my master list, some are secret mission which you don't have clearance for but some I can discuss.

You should try that by the way, make a few goals secret projects. By a little bit of the mad scientist or the secret agent. It seems like a silly childs game but that's sort of the fun of it. Think about when you were little how exited by something like this you might be. To have a secret project and be the top secret person. Likewise it could be for to try some other make believe games that might be silly seeming.

Right the list:

1) Tesseract

This one is based on the fourth dimensional analog of a cube, aka a tesseract. I'd had an idea for a sort of toy box/treasure chest that was a cube and opened on all sides to hold objects and maybe even had a secret compartment in the center. I'd come up with ways of making it look really neat and decorating it, things I would keep in it. All this was before I knew what to call it, before I'd learned to think about the fourth dimension (not up/down, left/righ or forward/back but refered to as the blue/red directions, and ninty degrees off of the third dimension the same way that the third is 90 degrees off of the second dimension). Anyway it's had many permutations and ideas for years and I figure it's time to try to realise one in the real world. I'll see if I can post pictures when it's done.

9) Carve gourds

for the holidays I was given a couple books on gourd carving, which appeals to me in the same way that some of my other natural material arts and craft do. I remember commenting that I just needed to find a good source of gourds to try some things out on, only to open another box a bit later to find several large gourds. Yay Mum. I've got some projects in mind for those babies. I figure there are enough gourds that If I use every scrap and make several projects from each I will have more then enough to last me the year. It also seems that the seeds and the pulp from the interior can be used for paper and a few other things.

Gotta love that sort of thing.

14) make one doll house object a month

I'm a big fan of tiny things. Always seemed a bit odd, being as big as I am/was. But fairy houses and doll houses have some appeal to me, the idea of making mini hand crafted versions of thing appeals to me as does coming up with home and furniture designs of my own and not having to worry about where to keep wrought iron bed frames or such. So I thought I'd try to do a little bit of that too.

20) Send one query letter a week (for selling stories, novels, puzzles, get prospectus on funds, get info on realestate...)

This ones going to be a bit tricky for me but I have these stories and novels and puzzles I make and yet never find out if someone might take them, I have info that might allow me to start investing for my future and maybe find a better place to live, but again I don't aske anybody about these opportunities until I have no other choice. That's just foolish. I need to act on these things, and so that is why this goal is here. If I run out of leads It will be insentive to find new leads. What will it hurt, it might even get me into a better situation.

That's a bit about some of my projects, I'll get back to you on the rest.
take care of yourselves,
Roving Jack
