Sorry, I feel pretty bad about missing that deadline.
I was doing fairly well saturday and only drove a few miles in my sleep... kidding. I wasn't as super tired as I would have expected though. Then even after 8 hours sleep I ended up getting an unschedualed nap (read fell asleep sitting up) in the afternoon and eneded up doing it again at 10pm. So I sort of missed some of my daily goals but luckily I phrased them to get done on a 7 per week total so I just did double the next day.
I started the amber spyglass on sunday and finished yesterday afternoon. Pretty decent work. The setting is wonderful. I'll give it one of my highest praises: I inspired some intresting ideas of my own.
Any story that causes me to come up with something of my own gets a thumbs up, this series gave me at least three ideas.
Now I'm half way through The Diamond age, by the author of Snow Crash. I'm sort of enjoying it. I alwasy find his first chapter or two very hard to read. But I was especially tickled by the neovictorian themes and 'project runcible'. Imagine finding a book that talks about things a steampunk can appreciate and also having it use the word runcible; which I have many things going on with. I will be making a runcible hat and a mechanical runcible device, and I've written the first chapter of my runcible super hero story, and I will be making runcible crafts eventually and maybe a game or two. I have a lot of runcible projects to come.
The trip to connecticut was sort of fun and is a decent idea for me, because it will allow me to participate in some of the gaming that I can't always get to at the con in summer. And I can network with other gamers who might be intrested in or have ideas for my maps and such.
I've got a boat load of things I'm handling right now and some of them want me to get going on them. I figured I'd start a web comic in the later part of winter but now it's looking like one of them has given me the goahead to start asap. And another is itching to get going.
I figure why not. The worst I can do is fail. and with six web comic ideas to work with the failure of one only teaches me how to succeed with the others.
It will be a few weeks before I build a supply to start with and then maybe another week before I figure out how to do it all. By then I should update once a week. I'll let you know when I get it off the ground.
Gotta go I've a few things to take care of before I have to leave tonight.
Take Care of yourselves.
